The RDPE is set to open Round Two of the Farming and Forestry Improvement Scheme (FFIS). The Scheme is due to open on the 22nd May 2012 and will be open for applications until 17th July 2012.
Grants are available from £2,500 up to a maximum of £25,000, with grant rates varying between 15% and 50% for capital expenditure and installation costs only. Lowland applicants will receive up to 40% dependant on the application and for any applicants in upland areas this could be up to a maximum of 50%.
The FFIS aims to support farming, forestry and horticultural businesses in England to become more efficient at using resources, thereby improving profits and reducing the impact on the environment.
Round Two still maintains the same priorities as Round One in terms of the meeting one or more of the following themes;
- Animal Health
- Energy usage
- Manure/nutrient management
- Soil quality
- Water resource management
- Improvements to foresty resources
