Grant increases for the Woodland Creation Grant 2012

Woodland expansion is one of the main priorities of the Forestry Commission. Grant rates have been increased, allowing a maximum of £4,800 per hectare (ha), to provide greater incentive to achieve this.

The Forestry Commission are also focusing on national priorities, to support additional contributions, which might include initiatives which respond to issues such as wider eco-system service delivery, public access in priority areas, biodiversity and supporting the rural economy through creating new productive woodlands.

The Forestry Commission has issued a new summary document setting out the key elements of the Woodland Creation Grant 2012.
