Hedgerow Cutting Derogation

Part of cross compliance is having to comply with Good Agricultural and Environment Conditions (GAEC), 7a bans the cutting or trimming of hedges (or trees) between 1st March and 31st August 2018 (inclusive).

This is different for oil seed rape or temporary grassland if it is sown during August 2018, a derogation from this requirement can be applied for to allow any hedges or trees associated with those land parcels to be cut/trimmed in August.

Written permission must be received from the RPA before any trimming or cutting of hedges (or trees) is done. This derogation should be applied for as early as possible so that written permission has been received from the RPA before the work is done.

For further information on how to apply for this derogation please contact us at Madeleys on 01952 727007 where we will be more than happy to discuss this with you or to apply for the derogation on your behalf.
