James graduated from Harper Adams University College in 1995 having completed his BSc in Rural Enterprise & Land Management. Subsequently qualifying as a Professional Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and elected a Fellow of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers, he now has more than 20 years’ experience as a Chartered Surveyor, Agricultural Valuer and Auctioneer.
James has a tremendous and varied wealth of experience but has spent the last 15 years working in Shropshire and the Welsh Marches. Here at Madeleys James practices as Senior Rural Practice Surveyor, and Associate Director of Madeleys Surveyors Ltd alongside Paul Madeley and Alasdair Barne.
James now lives locally near Bourton, Much Wenlock with his wife, Caroline and son, Thomas who attends Much Wenlock Primary School. As time allows other interests he has include his small holding activities where he currently has a pedigree flock of Shropshire sheep, free range chickens and production of small bale hay, maintaining their Victorian cottage, walking, gardening and has a keen interest in vintage machinery.
