“Environmental Stewardship: 2016, 2017 and 2018 Claims – Ongoing Payment Delays
13 February 2019
Unfortunately, there are still ongoing payment delays for several Environmental Stewardship (ES) 2016, 2017 and 2018 claims. The RPA is intending to write to all unpaid agreement holders to apologise for the delays shortly, but they cannot give any timescale at the moment for when the outstanding payments will be made.
The main issues holding up payments seem to relate to inspections done in 2016 and 2017 and mapping changes, particularly around the large-scale Proactive Land Change Detection (PLCD) exercise done in 2017, meaning that affected ES agreements have to be manually updated to reflect the changes before a claim can be paid.
The RPA is currently focusing on clearing the backlog of 2016 and 2017 final payments, which should then allow progress with 2018 claims (each year has to be dealt with on the system in chronological order). We continue to press the RPA for a timescale for when payments will be made and will update this website as soon as more is known.”
