Insight into Susie King
Susie is a Rural Chartered Surveyor and joined the Madeleys Team on a part time basis in April 2019.
Susie is a daughter of a Chartered Accountant, and hails from a Derbyshire farming family. She grew up in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire and in September 1989 moved to Shropshire.
From 1986-9, Susie studied at The Royal Agricultural University, Cirencester, Gloucestershire (Gaining a 2.1 Diploma in Rural Estate Management).
In May 1991 Susie qualified as a Rural Chartered Surveyor, becoming a member of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors; MRICS. She has over 29 years’ experience in Rural Estate and Property Management, working with high profile estates and private clients within Shropshire and the surrounding counties.
She was previously a Partner in a regional firm of surveyors, where she created and developed The Equestrian Department, and provided professional support to the country house sales department.
She specialises in all aspects of property management, and is particularly keen on architecture, heritage and listed properties.
Susie has previously been The Equestrian Correspondent for The Shropshire Magazine, writing monthly equestrian articles for the magazine over a period of two years.
Until recently she was a trustee for the Cavalier Centre, A Riding for The Disabled Centre situated just outside Much Wenlock. She is currently a Trustee for the Shropshire Rural Communities Charity (SRCC).
In her spare time she enjoys eventing her competition horses, and bringing on youngsters to eventually compete. She teaches riding and runs a small livery yard at home. Recently becoming an author her first book “Naughty Nugget”, has just been published.
She lives on a small farm near Shrewsbury, with a menagerie of Horses, Dogs, Pigs, etc!!
