Alasdair Barne.

Alasdair graduated from the Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester in the summer of 2009 having completed a Master’s Degree in Rural Estate Management (MSc). Prior to this he had spent a number of years working in London. After graduating from Cirencester, Alasdair moved to Shropshire in September 2009 and started working for a regional rural surveying company. Alasdair assisted two partners with the general estate management on a number of rural estates located in Shropshire and North Lincolnshire, gaining a wide range of experience in key day to day estate and rural matters. Alasdair became a qualified member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in October 2012.

In December 2012, Alasdair joined a Shropshire based renewable energy company specialising in the development of micro hydroelectric schemes. As a rural surveyor and project development assistant, Alasdair was also directly involved in the identification and development of primarily high head and low head micro hydro power schemes in England and Wales. Alasdair advised landowners on site suitability, site acquisition and option & lease matters along with managing the progression of sites from the initial inception through to submitting the required documents for the planning, abstraction and impoundment licences.

In March 2015 Alasdair joined us at Madeleys as a Rural Surveyor and on August 1st 2016 became a Director of the firm alongside Managing Director Paul and wife, Louise. Alasdair is married to Biz, and they have 2 children, Archie and Molly.
